Emphasized 2.0 — Tags, New Interface, and More
May 21, 2026 | 2 min
Emphasized 2.0 is finally here! It's the biggest update yet — introducing a whole new way to organize your highlights with tags, more ways to export and share, and a redesigned interface across all platforms.
What's New
Tags
You can now create tags with custom colors and assign them to any highlight. Select an active tag and it will be applied automatically as you highlight — no extra taps needed.
Tags make it easy to group highlights by topic, project, or anything else that makes sense to you.
Browse by Tag
A new tag view lets you see all your highlights organized by tag across every website you've visited. Jump straight to what matters, no digging through websites required.
More Export Options
Alongside PDF export, you can now export your highlights as plain text or JSON. You can also share directly via the system share sheet — handy for sending highlights to Notes, Mail, or any other app.
New Keyboard Shortcuts
Three new shortcuts let you quickly switch between tags and preview the active tag without opening the toolbar:
- Show Current Tag — Option+T
- Previous Tag — Option+[
- Next Tag — Option+]
These require a physical keyboard and work great on Mac and iPad.
New Interface
The interface has been redesigned from the ground up with a cleaner look tailored to each platform — whether you're on iPhone, iPad, or Mac, things feel right at home.
Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements
A round of bug fixes and under-the-hood improvements to make everything run more reliably.
That's everything in Emphasized 2.0!
Grab the latest version and give tags a try.
Thank you!
